Glossary›Batch release
Batch release
A batch is the quantity of a product made in one production run. Batch release is the check that decides whether this quantity may be delivered.
What it means
Release covers the check of certificates and the declaration of conformity, the comparison of the labelling (UDI, batch number, expiry date), a visual inspection of the goods and the documentation. Only when everything is in place is the batch released for shipping.
The batch number stays on the product and in the systems. Later it shows which facility received which batch.
Why it matters in procurement
In a recall every hour counts. If the batch is documented, procurement knows at once which wards are affected. Without release, goods enter circulation whose origin and condition nobody has checked.
How SANOVIO works with it
SANOVIO's QA team releases every batch before it leaves the warehouse. The release is visible in the system, and every delivery can be followed to arrival.
